In anticipation of our ”Sparking Inclusive Dialogue through Creative Placemaking“ event on Saturday, October 20, we will walk the 1/2 mile ”Great Wall of Los Angeles,” a mural created and implemented over 5 years through the collaboration of Judy Baca (SPARC Founder), artists, community members and over 400 youth and their families from diverse social and economic backgrounds. This mural pays tribute to the working families that helped build Southern California’s history. SPARC is embarking on the process to finish the last remaining decades of the mural (1960s-1990s) by holding civic dialogue sessions with community members to gather stories.
