INTERNSHIP: Music Research (Credit Only)

The LA Opera seeks a Research Intern who will report to LA Opera’s Richard Seaver Music Director, James Conlon. The intern will help research and assemble an annotated chronology of Maestro Conlon’s career for use in company promotions and publications. Internship activities will include communicating with the publications staffs at opera companies, symphony orchestras and schools in the US and throughout the world. Research activities may also include compiling materials such as recording lists, critical reviews, and work samples.
Qualified candidates must receive credit from an accredited college or university for the internship. This is a non-paid position. Qualified candidates will have a highly disciplined work ethic, excellent communications skills, and superb research skills with meticulous attention to detail. Candidates should be currently pursuing a degree in music (preferably at the graduate level) and be multi-lingual. As well, he or she must be computer literate with some experience in Windows, Microsoft Office, and database software. Graduates may be eligible as long as college credit can be received.
