Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre Free Performance

3:00 pm in Events by Shanda Domango

September 7 & 8, 2012— 8:30pm
FREE to the Public
Van Nuys FlyAway Bus Terminal
7610 Woodley Avenue, Van Nuys, CA 91406

VAN NUYS, CA—Divide and collide…Heidi Duckler Dance Theatre (HDDT) will capture the attention and ignite the imaginations of travelers with the company’s new work Kiss n’Ride. Following star-crossed lovers to their unanticipated departure, the performance will draw upon the futuristic architecture of the location and bring a humanistic touch to the modern structure.

By exploring the notion of leaving as a beginning and end, Kiss n’Ride will invigorate the otherwise functional site with a temporary public art project that is commissioned by Los Angeles’ Department of Cultural Affairs and Los Angeles World Airports. Folding chairs in tow, the audience will experience the Van Nuys FlyAway and witness an intricate story of travelers against the ongoing backdrop of the random entrances and exits of commuters.

Through electric choreography directed by Heidi Duckler, LED-infused costumes, new video design by artist Ray Sun, and a cutting-edge live-DJ, HDDT will transform the FlyAway into a kiss and ride away from the daily life…
