JOB: LA Opera Marketing Coordinator

The Los Angeles Opera is seeking a talented Marketing Coordinator to join its team. This position will report to the Associate Director of Marketing and will coordinate direct marketing efforts, both electronic and printed, in conjunction with broader departmental goals. Responsibilities include delivery of advertising and direct mail materials, collecting information for printed materials, maintaining the departmental production schedule, interactive marketing and audience development projects.

Candidates should be self-motivated, eager and have the talent and skills necessary to pursue an advanced career in marketing. Knowledge and/or appreciation for the Arts are preferred. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, be bilingual in English/Spanish, be proficient in MS Office, MS Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat and database management, and have the ability to organize, move, and lift boxes of promotional materials as needed. Candidates must be able to work some evenings and weekends as required.

Development Assistant

The Development Operations Assistant will provide administrative support and coordination for LA Opera’s development staff, with emphasis on the areas of donor stewardship and finance.

Responsibilities include processing gifts, monitoring revenue and expenditures, drafting and preparing donor correspondence and acknowledgements, data mining and report generation, assisting with events, and helping to establish positive and responsive relationships with donors, prospects and Opera staff.

Qualified candidates will have worked extensively in Word, Excel and Outlook, have experience with database applications, demonstrate the ability to attend to detail in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment and have strong written and oral communication skills.

JOB: Director of Development, Cornerstone Theater Company

Cornerstone Theater seeks a dynamic Director of Development to lead and strengthen the organization’s development department. The Director of Development will plan and implement all fundraising programs for the Company, including annual campaign; individual giving; major gifts; special events; sponsorships; foundation, corporate, and government grants; planned giving; contributor cultivation and all other aspects of fundraising to advance the mission of the organization. The Director of Development reports to the Managing Director.

Responsibilities
• Plan and implement new and creative strategies to strengthen the annual fund-raising program;
• Develop a comprehensive program, including an online giving program;
• Guide the board of directors and other volunteers in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts (annual and capital). Prepare board members for cultivation and solicitation activities and partner with them in the implementation;
• Build strong relationships with foundation and corporate funders;
• Develop a strong sponsorship program:
• Plan and oversee the annual gala and other special events;
• Appoint, lead, evaluate and manage the development staff;
• Supervise grant manager and oversee all reporting deadlines and donor updates;
• Oversee the collection of data on contributors and the database;
• Participate with communication team to unify branding and messaging;
• Oversee the production of all development documents and materials;
• Assist in establishing and updating key contributor documents, i.e. gift acceptance and planned giving policies;
• Maintain and implement effective development systems and policies;
• Other Administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree;
• Four years of development experience;
• Proven track record of securing major gifts from individuals, foundations and businesses;
• Experience with a capital campaign;
• Extensive knowledge of development principles, fund-raising techniques and ethics;
• Ability to manage and partner with high-level fund-raising volunteers;
• Excellent oral and written skills;
• Ability to manage multiple priorities;
• Excellent managerial and interpersonal skills;
• Interest and/or experience in theater and social justice a plus;
• Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and MAC Operating System.

LA Opera seeks an Education Programs Assistant for its award-winning Education and Community Programs department. Reporting to the Education Manager, the Education Programs Assistant will provide general administrative support and coordination for the Opera’s education and community programs staff. This position will also assist in the planning and implementation of education programs, projects and events.

Qualified candidates will be highly organized and have a degree or significant experience in arts, arts management or arts education. Applicants will have worked extensively in Word, Excel and Outlook, and have experience with database applications. Qualified candidates will also demonstrate the ability to attend to detail in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment and have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as an aptitude for interacting well with the public. Bilingual a plus but not required.

This is a part-time position, offering approximately 29 hours per week. There is some flexibility in setting hours during the business week; however, the work schedule may vary and will include some nights and weekends.
