Mission, Purpose and Vision
Mission
Emerging Arts Leaders/Los Angeles’ mission is to ensure sustainable innovation in arts leadership by facilitating and providing a forum for preparing, educating and inspiring emerging arts professionals to assume the next generation of arts sector leadership positions.
Purpose
EAL/LA is a network of arts professionals whose purpose is to grow and support the next generation of creative leaders in the greater Los Angeles area.
Arts Professionals must be cultivated and prepared for when opportunities for advancement present themselves. Many early-career arts professionals have few opportunities to expand their leadership capacity. EAL/LA members address this need by developing programs designed to enhance their professional development, expand their network, and share resources with their peers.
EAL/LA members are self-identified “Emerging Arts Leaders” and we welcome anyone who is interested in contributing to, or who will benefit from our programs. Members are typically early in their career or new to the arts field and share a desire to enhance their leadership capacity by developing innovative, effective, and responsible management practices. They represent organizations from all arts disciplines, in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, and include artists, administrative coordinators, managers, directors, arts funders, and consultants.
Vision
EAL/LA is a collaborative alliance of diverse emerging arts leaders. We believe that by inspiring and fostering leadership and creativity we are preparing the next generation of arts professionals to enrich and sustain the cultural ecology of Los Angeles.
EAL/LA is a project of Community Partners and a local chapter of the national Emerging Leaders Network initiated by Americans for the Arts.
