LA2050 is one of these initiatives.

LA2050 is a groundbreaking initiative uniting and mobilizing the best thinkers and doers to tackle LA’s biggest challenges – both now and in the future. The Goldhirsh Foundation has undertaken initial project research to determine where LA is today as well as the trajectory we are on. And, we’ve created a shared vision for the future of LA. We are currently seeking a Director who will report to the foundation president and work in collaboration with our team to track and drive progress toward this shared vision, navigate the political sphere, innovate within existing infrastructures, and execute the LA2050 plan of action.

THE SENIOR DIRECTOR WILL:

Create, lead, and manage all LA2050 planning and implementation including budget, program management, and outreach
Establish desired outcomes and metrics for LA2050 and track progress against these objectives
Oversee management of all LA2050 initiative growth and campaigns
Assist and build relationships with appropriate networks, as it pertains to advancing the LA2050 Goals, LA2050 agenda, and LA205’s organizational growth/development
Cultivate, build, and manage partnerships and governance for all aspects of LA2050
Navigate the LA political sphere to identify, select, and promote policy initiatives for LA2050 to support and actively change
Direct the LA2050 Advocacy Advisory Council to identify opportunities and high leverage points to make impact
Direct and manage LA2050’s research and reporting arm, which tracks progress toward the LA2050 Goals
Lead outreach and oversee all LA2050 events, ensuring that the appropriate stakeholders are present

AND WE NEED SOMEONE WITH RELEVANT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree required
A minimum of ten years of work experience, which includes experience within the social innovation sector, specifically with social action and/or political campaigns or social innovation start-ups
Experience in managing projects and processes: creating timelines and budgets, managing external vendors, and communicating progress internally
Experience growing and/or turning around an organization, especially in early growth phase
Experience managing events and promotional outreach
Experience navigating the political sphere and executing political organizing, and an impressive rolodex
Familiarity with digital platforms and social media tools for civic activation and participation
A solid network in and knowledge base of Los Angeles
